Deconstructing Ownership

Dismantling Colonialist Notions of Private Property

As part of the We Are All This Together Symposium, this event grapples with the history of colonization and commodification of the more-than-human world, drawing the connection between settler colonial conception of private property, and the current climate crisis. We also delve into how we can all shift away from this destructive paradigm and acknowledge the "Rights," spirit and agency of Land.

Unfortunately, one of the speakers, Johana Fernanda Sánchez Jaramillo, had technical difficulties and wasn't able to join the live conversation. As a follow up to the actual webinar, we present to you an interview with Fernanda, where she explores how to work with our current legal system to honor and protect Mother Earth.
