On Earth Day, community members came together in Potsdam, NY (Haudenosaunee Territory) to learn about the North Country Rights of Rivers Movement. The event covered how "Rights of Nature" is a vital paradigm shift that can help protect the beloved Rivers, who are part of our communities.

During the event we heard directly the Watershed Guardians, who are championing the rights of Rivers and all their relations. They included:
Abraham Francis, PhD Candidate at Clarkson University and former Program Manager for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Environment Program
Blake Lavia & Tzintzun Aguilar-Izzo, Environmental Organizers & Artists from Talking Wings and Talking Rivers
Cathy Shrady, Canton Sustainability Committee Chair
Emmett Smith, Owner of Northern Power & Light
Lee Willbanks, Talking Rivers Board Member and Previous Upper St. Lawrence Riverkeeper
Lynn Hall, Potsdam Town Board Member
